Awhile back, I taught English at a Taiwanese Cram School.

Me, reading out loud: “Mr. Cheng watched Blue Movies.”

Me, to the kids: Huh. Weird idiom. What is a blue movie?

The freakin’ elementary school kids: Oh yeah, it means porn.

Me: ⊙_ʘ…. Whaaaat. *google it* shit, you guys are right. Why do you know this. AND WHY IS THIS IN A CHILDREN’S TEXTBOOK!?
*flips through more examples, including murder, and bank robberies* WHO WROTE THIS.

The kids: English sucks, I hate English.

Me: Shut up and keep reading!
